Why do we need to accelerate?
VCs got tired of b2b SaaS and are realizing that despite the progress made in the world of bits over the past 50 years, much of the physical world has barely evolved. Cars travel at the same speed. Cities are decaying. The human body and mind - our ultimate frontier - remains almost untouched. This is changing.
Millions of biohackers around the world refuse to think evolution is finished. They believe we can be more. They act. They tinker with their own bodies. They measure, experiment, enhance. They are citizen scientists pushing the frontier. They watched X-Men as kids and decided this should be real. The hope is infectious, the movement grows. Elite scientists and hungry builders enter the chase.
The tools we currently have are crude: stimulants to sharpen focus, steroids to push muscle limits, basic therapies to tweak biology. Yet the cracks in human limitation are widening. We’re starting to select embryos. Interface between brains and machines. Edit genes and even resurrect ancient species. Soon, we will be birthing Humans 2.0.
Billion-dollar companies rally around the dream of living forever. We share that dream. But we reject the notion that survival alone is enough. Immortality is just one superpower. We seek all powers. Enhancement across every dimension: Neurotech. Performance optimizing compounds. Implants and exoskeletons. Continuous biomarker monitoring. New sensory abilities. Exercise in a pill. Rapid tissue regeneration. Intelligence augmentation and applied AI. And more.
On our path to engineered evolution, we unearth a plethora of powers we can’t predict yet.
It is not a choice. It is an imperative. The age of AI is upon us. We can become obsolete or we can evolve and thrive. But only if we allow ourselves to enhance. Only if we step outside the shadows of what has been into what can be. What must be. Evolution has been moving us forward for billions of years, slowly and blindly. The amoeba could never imagine what a human could be. For the first time in history, we have the opportunity to accelerate and direct our own evolution. Shape our own destiny.
To stay relevant in face of the singularity, AGI, or whatever you want to call it, we need to accelerate. To accelerate, we must invest. Invest where others don’t. In massive, yet overlooked opportunities. At the earliest stages. In the builders of the next humanity. Those who refuse complacency. Those who reject decline. Those who refuse to accept that what we are now is all we can ever be.
This is not a dream. This is a fork in the timeline.
